About Us
Smiles After the Storm began as the first Massachusetts chapter of No Birthday Left Behind, with a heartfelt mission: to ensure that every child living in a homeless shelter could experience the joy of a birthday celebration. We supplied everything needed — decorations, party favors, cake, gifts, and more — so families could focus on celebrating without the stress of added expenses. With the help of dedicated volunteers, we created moments that reminded children they are loved, valued, and deserving of happiness.
As our work grew, so did our vision. Today, Smiles After the Storm continues to celebrate birthdays, but our mission has expanded to meet families in many of life’s most difficult moments. We provide holiday adoptions, emergency assistance, and support during times of hardship, always with the goal of bringing joy, relief, and hope when families need it most.
Our approach remains personal and comprehensive. Whether it’s a birthday party, a holiday celebration, or direct support during a crisis, every detail matters. From colorful decorations that brighten a room to meaningful gifts that spark smiles, we aim to create lasting memories that help families rebuild hope after life’s storms.
